A hard question to answer is when are you fully recovered from everything. When is the time that you can say: 'okay, everything that is keeping me from being me, is now a side effect'.
Balance is the key, although mostly when you are recovering this balance is really thin. You can fall off really easily and it can take quite some time to get this balance where you want it to be. You have no other option, just to give it the times it needs.

A few weeks ago it was time for my checkup again. A trip to the hospital, the nuclear medicine to be precise. A little chat, an ultrasound and a blood test. That is all.

After my world got turned upside down with a cancer diagnosis and the confrontation with death, I could make the changed that I wanted to for so long.
Why wasn't I able to do this before? What is it with the confrontation of disease or death that makes you see what is really important?
This time something felt different. I wasn't caught up in my thoughts and what it would mean to live without a thyroid. I could only feel love and gratitude.
Was this the work of the anesthetics or was it something else?
The question that kept coming into my head was: 'What did this want to tell me or teach me?'. How could I found out what it was?
I didn't how untill someone told me what to do....
The thought 'Why did this happen to me?' never crossed my mind. The question that was important to me was: 'Why did it happen and why didn't my immune system destroy it?
And so my journey started....
My life got turned upside down because of three words. The impact of those words are enormous and they changed my life.
Three words I never thought I would here in this stage of my life. I was only 36 years old at that time. But it happened...
